First, you'll need an i7 with hyperthreading. However, for your requirements, the system you're looking at will disappoint you in it's performance. My systems listed below were painless to setup and get running. That being said, techniques for making hackintoshes have come a long way over the past 10 years. Finally, you'll have no problems with installing macOS updates and upgrades for the next 4-5 years. If you're using Chrome, Outlook and Lightroom with PhotoShop, you'll going to need an i7 processor and at least 32GB RAM.

Why the Mac Mini? Unlike the hacks, you'll get Thunderbolt 3 (which I have in my 2017 MacBook Pro) for fast external peripherals and a 4K monitor (but you'll need an eGPU with a very good graphics card).

Since both of those options are soldiered onto the motherboard, you can't upgrade them like you can the memory which you can easily upgrade to at least 32GB and need for your professional apps. Thus, I want to recommend that you seriously look into the new Mac Mini with it's optional i7 processor and larger SSD.

However, a Mac Pro 4,1 upgraded to a 5,1 via firmware will be an expensive and hard system to upgrade, especially the processors which have to be "de-lidded." It can be done, but it's not easy, and, if you have someone else do it, it's expensive. The same for each Mac Pros' graphics cards. Both Mac Pros have had their processors swapped out for the fastest available for each model. I did actually create a list of parts for a Hackintosh, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered with the unreliability. Am I thinking too much about Geekbench score when in the real word the MP would smash all this no problem, especially with a 6 core and 16gb ram? I might have Chrome, Outlook and Lightroom open then trying to nip into PhotoShop to quickly edit a photo it really bogs down (8GB RAM). My MBP can handle most of my needs without a problem, where it falls down is trying to do much at once. I also do some light gaming on occasion, nothing to tasking not expecting to play games in 4k by any means. photo editing (LR and PS) so would want to connect a high res display (4K if possible?). I've heard that programs like Lightroom and Photoshop depend on single core more than multi-core performance. I have the i7 13" MBP, so looking at Geekbench my single core score is actually better than I would get from the X5690 (3500 ish vs 2600). Then I'd throw in new GPU, some flash storage and additional RAM. My budget is tight, so it would be a 4,1 which I would flash to a 5,1 but most likely a single core (I've already found an X5690 cheap on eBay). My initial thought was to Hackintosh, but I love the "cheesegrater" Mac Pros, and, upon seeing how usable they still are today, I'm now considering getting a 4,1 and upgrading it.

I've been using a 13" late 2012 for years, and I love it! But I'm looking for a desktop machine with more power for multitasking. If you have a 2008 or older, OWC has a bracket for you it just isn't this one.Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guide You can't go wrong with this mount, as long as you actually have a 2009-2012 aluminum tower Mac Pro. It has an extra set of mounting points, to fit more modern drives where manufacturers decided to 'shake things up' by moving the screw holes.

This OWC drive bracket is better than the original. Where did they go? There is no other use for them than putting them into Mac Pro, so where do they vanish to? Are they like those socks that vanish into an alternate dimension leaving you with one striped and one checkered sock on the morning you have an important meeting? They all shipped with four, but when you buy a used Mac Pro, seems like half the time it's missing one or more of the drive brackets. JDo you know what's harder to find than a penguin-flamingo hybrid? A freaking drive bracket for a Mac Pro.
